Lord, shine your glorious light upon me

Numbers 6:24—26 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee.  The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee, the Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Psalm 119:135 – Make thy face to shine upon thy servant, and teach me thy statutes.

Genesis 6:22 – Thus did Noah according to all that God commanded him, so did  he.

Message: Lord, shine your glorious light upon me

St. Matthew 5:16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which in in heaven.

Light –Signifies your life of godly obedience and service in His name.  When we practice holiness and render a sacrificial service unto him the light from within begins to radiate so that others may SEE the glory of God in our lives by our holiness and service.

On the other hand, when God begins to shine on your life, others will also see the radiant light of God’s glory upon your ministries, service or godly, blessed, sanctified, holy, life in His sight.  When God rewards us,  his light of blessings begins to SHINE on us AND AROUND US, and others can see the Hand of God with us.  Hallelujah.

The grace and smile of God is the goal of a Christian’s life.  Pleasing God should be the first purpose of our life.  Our most important task is to discover how to do that.    Ephesians 5:9-10 For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Noah is a good example of one who sought to please God.

Genesis 6:5-8  God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And it repented the Lord that he had made man, and it grieved him at his heart.  The Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. 9 - Noah was a just man and perfect in his generation and He walked with God.

The Lord decided to start creation all over with Mankind

Genesis 6:17 – And behold, I  even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven, and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

WHEN THE FLOOD CAME ALL FLESH DIED – Genesis 7:21-23 – And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, and in whose nostrils was the breath of life, and every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.  GOD SHINED HIS GLORIOUS LIGHT RADIENTLY UPON NOAH AND HIS FAMILY WHEN HE SPARED THEIR LIVES, BECAUSE OF THE LOVE THAT NOAH HAD TOWARDS HIS GOD.

1.    NOAH LOVED GOD AND THIS PLEASE THE LORD.  Hosea 6:6 – For I desired Mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. compassion: kindness or forgiveness shown to an offender or to somebody a person has power over • The judge showed mercy and imposed the shortest sentence he could.[1]  Matthew – Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

2.     NOAH TRUSTED GOD COMPLETELY EVEN WHEN HIS MISSION DID NOT MAKE SENSE. Gen – Thus did Noah according to all that God had commanded him, so did he.   By faith, Noah built a ship in the middle  of dry land.  He was warned about something he could not see, and acted on what he was told, as a result, Noah became intimate with God. Hebrews 11:6 – BUT without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh unto God must believe that HE IS and he is a REWARDER of those that diligently seek him.  NOTE:  REWARDER – WHEN GOD REWARDS US HE SHINES HIS LIGHT GLORIOUSLY UPON US.

NOAH COULD HAVE DOUBTED GOD BECAUSE:

NOAH HAD NEVER SEEN RAIN

NOAH LIVED HUNDREDS OF MILES FROM THE NEAREST OCEAN. SO, EVEN IF HE COULD BUILD A SHIP HOW WOULD HE GET IT TO THE WATER?

HOW WOULD HE ROUND UP ALL OF THE ANIMALS AND THEN CARE FOR THEM.

IT TOOK NOAH 120 YEARS TO BULD THE ARK.  HE FACED MANY DISCOURAGING DAYS, WITH NO SIGN OF RAIN YEAR AFTR YEAR, HE WAS KNOWN AS A CRAZY MAN WHO THOUGHT THAT GOD WAS SPEAKING TO HIM.

NOAH’S FAMILY MUST HAVE BEEN EMBARRESSED BY THE GIANT SHIP BEING BUILT IN THEIR FRONT YARD.

Scriptures:

Psalm 100:2- Serve the Lord with gladness, come before his presence with singing.

Psalm 119:33-Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I shall keep it unto the end.

James 2:24-You see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

John 14:15-If you love me, keep my commandments

Genesis 8:20- And Noah built an altar unto the Lord.  (After His life was spared he worshiped the Lord).
